Harbor

Time tracking and resource planning for 14islands, a digital product studio in Stockholm, Sweden.

Harbor is internal software, made and run by 14 Islands AB for its own staff and contractors. It is not a product you can sign up for — accounts are created by an administrator, and only an invited person can sign in.

What Harbor does

Everyone at the studio records the hours they work so that projects can be costed and planned. Harbor is where that happens:

  • Timesheets. Log hours against a project and a task, day by day or across a week, with a note on what the time went to. A built-in timer can run while you work.
  • Project budgets. Track hours and fees against an agreed budget, so a project team can see how much of it the work has consumed.
  • Resource planning. A calendar of who is booked on which project, for how long, together with holidays and time off.
  • Reports. Hours and revenue over a period, grouped by client, project, task or person.

Harbor is available as a web app, an iOS and Android app, and a macOS menu bar app. All three sign in the same way.

Why Harbor asks to use your Google account

Signing in with Google is the only way into Harbor. We chose it so that nobody has to keep another password, and so that access follows the Google account the studio already manages.

When you sign in, Google tells Harbor three things about you, and nothing else:

  • Your email address — to recognise you, and to check that an administrator has invited that address. If it has not been invited, you are signed straight back out.
  • Your name — so colleagues can see whose time and bookings they are looking at.
  • Your profile picture — shown next to your name in the app.

Harbor asks for no other Google permissions. It cannot read your email, your files or your calendar, and it never posts anything to your account. Your Google data is used to sign you in and to identify you inside Harbor — nothing else, and it is never sold or used for advertising.

Read our privacy policy for what we store and how to have it deleted, or our terms of service.
